The Vector 6020 OVL is an industrial fiber laser with a 6000×2000 mm working area, 20 kW of power, and a built-in pipe cutter. The machine is engineered for continuous production cutting of thick sheet metal and structural tubing on a single platform. A fully enclosed gantry, a monolithic stress-relieved and machined base, and servo-driven helical rack-and-pinion drives ensure precise, stable cut geometry under the heaviest loads.

Key Advantages of the Vector 6020 OVL:

  • The Maxphotonics laser source with back-reflection protection handles carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and copper with confidence. At 20 kW, the machine cuts carbon steel 40 mm and thicker while maintaining high feed rates.
  • Standard equipment includes a 2D pipe cutter for round, square, and rectangular tubing. Complex assemblies that combine sheet and tubular components can be produced without moving workpieces between separate machines. This saves floor space, eliminates transfer time, and reduces work-in-progress inventory.
  • Standard 6-meter sheets are processed whole. No joining operations, less waste, and faster turnaround on large-scale structural projects.
  • The welded steel frame is stress-relieved and then machined in a single setup on a large-format mill, guaranteeing a continuous flat plane for the linear guides along the entire 7-meter length. This eliminates the micro-misalignments that inevitably accumulate in assembled frames and degrade positioning accuracy.
  • The combination of AC servo motors, precision planetary gearboxes, and ground helical racks delivers traverse speeds up to 120 m/min and a repeat positioning accuracy of ±0.05 mm. Planetary gearboxes remove backlash on reversal — critical for intricate contours and small holes.
  • A capacitive material height sensor, low assist gas pressure sensor, coolant flow sensor, and emergency stop button monitor key parameters in real time. Back-reflection protection prevents damage to the costly laser source when cutting copper, brass, and aluminum.
  • The FSCUT control system with a touchscreen display and remote handwheel is compatible with most CAD/CAM packages. Built-in autofocus and cut height control reduce setup time and improve edge quality.
