The GLB 3121FV CNC router is an industrial multi-function platform with automatic tool changing, engineered for high-efficiency production. The model combines a powerful vacuum hold-down system and a high-speed spindle with servo drives, significantly reducing the time required for complex jobs and delivering maximum productivity when working with wood, plastics, composites, and other non-metals.
You write a single control program that contains all operations: roughing, finishing, and engraving. Then you place the workpiece on the vacuum table, start the cycle, and can move on to other tasks. The machine handles everything else.
First, the machine picks a larger-diameter roughing bit from the tool changer fork and removes the main layer of material. The system then automatically returns the tool to the fork and picks up a finishing bit. This bit follows the contour, producing a precise, smooth surface. If engraving is included in the program, the machine changes tools again — this time to a fine engraving bit.
The operator does not intervene in the process. No manual changes, no adjustments. One program, one part, no stops.
Key Advantages of the Vector GLB 3121FV:
- The carousel holds up to six tools, ready for use. The system selects the required bit according to the program and changes it within seconds. This is especially valuable in series production, where each part requires multiple operations.
- The workpiece is pressed evenly against the table across its entire surface. Zoning allows vacuum to be activated only in the zones where the part is located — reliably securing even small workpieces. No clamps, vises, or mechanical fixtures.
- The Italian spindle with 9 kW of power and speeds up to 24,000 rpm provides the reserve needed for confident work with thick materials and large bits. For comparison: smaller machines in the lineup use 2.2–3.2 kW spindles. Here, power is two to three times greater, allowing more material to be removed per pass and reducing machining time.
- Rapid moves run at up to 40 m/min — twice as fast as models with stepper motors. In series production with many small operations on a single sheet, this significantly shortens the overall cycle time.
- For a field of over 3 meters, the rack-and-pinion drive provides stable accuracy and speed along the full travel. A ballscrew of this length would need to be very large in diameter, multiplying the machine cost several times over.
- The VECTOR Drive control system is a hardware and software platform for VECTOR machines, built on an industrial CNC controller. Depending on the equipment model and configuration, controllers from various manufacturers may be used, integrated, localized, and optimized by engineers.
