The Vector 2515FM is a CNC router with a 2500×1500×250 mm work area, designed for precision machining of non-ferrous metals, alloys, and engineering plastics. The machine is built for stable operation with large-format workpieces: the polymer-concrete reinforced frame, kinematics, control system, 4 kW spindle, and tool cooling form a single system that determines the accuracy of the final result.
Design and Technical Features of the Vector 2515FM:
- The workpiece is clamped directly to the aluminum T-slot profile of the work table. Rigid clamping eliminates unwanted workpiece movement during milling and maintains the specified machining geometry even on large sheets.
- The fully welded structure, reinforced with polymer concrete, serves as the foundation for stable gantry and mechanical operation. For a 2500×1500 mm field, this is critical: the larger the work area, the harder it is to maintain rigidity without additional mass.
- Motion on the X, Y, and Z axes is driven by ballscrews running on linear guideways. This kinematic scheme ensures precise spindle movement along the programmed toolpath. Bellow covers on the X-axis protect the mechanics from chips and contamination.
- Hybrid stepper motors provide maximum torque and protection against missed steps. Thanks to them, the system operates stably at working feed rates up to 8 m/min with repeat positioning accuracy of ±0.05 mm.
- The 4 kW water-cooled spindle operates at speeds up to 12,000 rpm. The collet accepts tools up to 16 mm in diameter — serious tooling for rough metal machining. A built-in thermal sensor monitors spindle temperature during operation.
- The coolant system delivers fluid directly to the cutting zone, reducing thermal load on the tool and improving chip evacuation.
- Machine control is handled by VECTOR Drive — a hardware and software platform built on proven industrial CNC controllers from leading global manufacturers. Depending on production requirements, engineers select and optimize the control electronics to match the dynamic characteristics of the machine. This simplifies integration into existing production processes and makes operator work easier.
